FAQ
-
What diagnostic tools do you use?We use gold-standard assessment tools such as the ADOS-2 (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule) and ADI-R (Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised) for Autism, as well as clinically validated ADHD screening and diagnostic tools.
-
Where are your in-person assessments held?We offer face-to-face assessments at selected locations across the UK. Please contact us to find your nearest assessment centre.
-
Do I need a referral from my GP?No, you don’t need a GP referral. As a private service, we accept self-referrals. You’ll complete a booking form with us, and if we need any additional information from your GP, we’ll discuss this with you before making any contact.
-
What is the waiting time for an assessment, and how long does it take? Our waiting times vary, but assessments typically begin within four weeks of booking. Child assessments take approximately 6 weeks from the first appointment to receiving the written report. Adult assessments usually take around one month to complete.
-
Do you provide assessments under the NHS Right to Choose scheme?Unfortunately, we do not offer assessments through the Right to Choose system. Many providers on this scheme now have long waiting lists or are not accepting new referrals. If you explore this option, we advise reviewing their assessment pathway to ensure it meets your needs.
-
Will my assessment be recognised by the NHS, local authorities or educational institutions?Yes, our assessments are widely recognised. Our clinicians regularly work within NHS diagnostic teams and commissioned NHS services. While rare, if any organisation questions an assessment, we are experienced in addressing concerns.
-
Will a psychologist, psychiatrist, or paediatrician be involved in my assessment?Yes, every assessment involves a healthcare professional with a doctoral-level qualification, typically a clinical psychologist or psychiatrist, in line with NICE guidelines for ADHD and Autism assessments.
